I wanted to start building more on the definitions of each colour character to make them all more distinguished from one another. I have been finding it difficult to envision each colour character as a fully formed personality type because the starting point I had to work from was just 4 adjectives and a few examples of fictional characters that appeared to fit into each category.
I started by cross referencing some of the MBTI types I looked at and categorised into a colour character to find similarities between them, trying to focus on what differentiated them from other personality types.
Blue Character MBTI types:
Altruistic- care about helping others or helping the greater good
A strong sense of right and wrong
Good leaders
Hard workers
Devoted and thoughtful
Dependable and reliable
Inspiring and passionate
Green Character MBTI types:
Opinionated- dislike being disagreed with
Sharp, sarcastic sense of humour
They don't like everyone, can often come across as judgmental
Can come across as rude when trying to be honest
Orange Character MBTI types:
Incredibly entertaining, they have a quick-witted sense of humour
Very bold, energetic, charismatic
Have a rebellious streak
Dislike practical matters and highly organised environments
Risk takers
Can inadvertently burn bridges through their insensitive sense of humour
Pink Character MBTI types:
Extremely social and bubbly
Strong aesthetic sense, an eye for fashion
Radiate a positive and playful energy
Very sensitive, can read too much into other's actions
Unfocused, can neglect responsibilities and struggle with self-discipline
Empathetic and warm
Purple Character MBTI types:
Incredibly open-minded, flexible thinkers
Exploratory spirits
Need alone time to recharge
Curious minds, pensive and passionate about self-expression
Creative and free-spirited
Fiercely independent
Red Character Character MBTI types:
(On revision, I feel that Virtuoso shows more Orange Character traits but has some Red Character traits as well)
Natural born leaders, project authority
Strong-willed, honest, direct, dedicated
Stick to their principles
Good in a crisis, good team leaders and lead by example
Can be inflexible and stubborn
Yellow Character MBTI types:
Sensitive, caring and supportive
Feel called to help and uplift others
Shower loved ones with with gestures of care and support
Dependable and reliable
Very loyal
Can be quiet or reserved but have good people skills
Can be overly accommodating
Following this, I feel much more confident in the differentiation between each personality type. I think this has allowed me to envision more clearly how each colour character would look and behave.
To further these depictions of each colour character, I decided to create some more mood boards painting a picture of each character as a real person. I focused on female perceptions as I feel this is my core target audience for this brand. Of course, I would love to design products that are suitable for all genders so I am not isolating my target audience in the future but I think it is important as a starting block to focus my attention on perfecting the female demographic, as they are most likely to be my initial interest.
